Home Inspection Guide

Look beyond the finishes and understand the systems.

What an inspection is

A general home inspection is a visual assessment of accessible systems and components. It is not a guarantee and may not uncover concealed conditions.

Questions worth asking

Ask about the roof, structure, drainage, electrical system, plumbing, heating, and signs of moisture. Discuss whether radon, sewer, pest, well, or other specialized evaluations are appropriate.

Make a practical plan

Read the full report, ask questions, and distinguish immediate safety concerns from future maintenance. Get qualified estimates rather than relying on a single repair allowance.

General educational information, not legal, tax, lending, or financial advice. Requirements and programs can change; verify details with a qualified professional.
